God’s plan for the redemption of humanity started immediately after the fall of Adam and Eve. God said to the serpent (Satan), “and I will put enmity (open hostility) between you and the woman, and between your seed (offspring) and her seed; he shall (fatally) bruise your head, and you shall (only) bruise his heel.”
In Jesus Christ was God’s word fulfilled. Christ defeated Satan on the cross at Calvary, triumphing over him and setting the captives free. Satan bruised Jesus Christ with wounds and physical death which Jesus conquered on the third day by His resurrection from the dead.
